The classical phrase "the Life Palace is the master of the person" reflects its importance in the traditional system, but it should not be read as a statement that one palace determines an entire life. The Life Palace is calculated from birth month and hour and is read together with the Body Palace. Traditional practice also connects it to the Wealth, Career, and Travel palaces through San Fang Si Zheng. In modern terms, think of it less as "fate" and more as the chart's default operating system — important, but always modified by context and the rest of the chart.
